Let's cook: Sweet treats on your fire pit or fireplace

Trendz fire pits and outdoor fireplaces are a meeting point, where friends and family can gather and make memories. Some of the best memories are made with food, so here's some recipes to try while you enjoy your time around the fire.

Dark Chocolate Skillet Cookie

Chocolate, warmth, and the fire pit glow, the perfect outdoor dessert experience.

Ingredients

• 185g butter, softened (or sub. for Nuttelex)
• 1 tsp vanilla essence
• ¼ cup caster sugar
• ⅓ cup brown sugar
• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1½ cups self-raising flour
• 1 Whittaker’s 62% Dark Block (250g), roughly chopped
• Ice cream, to serve

Method

1. Mix butter, vanilla, and sugars until fluffy. Stir in egg, flour, and chopped chocolate.
2. Press dough into a skillet (2–3cm thick). Chill if you can.
3. Place skillet on the hot plate of your Trendz Fire Pit over steady embers. Cover with a lid or foil.
4. Cook 12–18 mins until golden at the edges and soft in the middle.
5. Rest 5 mins, then serve warm with ice cream.

Trendz take on S'mores

The classic campfire treat, Aussie-style, straight from your Trendz fire pit.

Ingredients

• Marshmallows
• 1 packet of chocolate-coated biscuits (like Arnott’s Digestives)

Method

1. Toast marshmallows over hot coals for a light golden finish, or directly in the flames for an extra crispy outside.
2. Sandwich the toasted marshmallow between two chocolate biscuits.
3. Enjoy straight from the fire!

Chocolate Fondue

Ingredients

• 200g chocolate (milk, dark, or a mix)
• 100ml cream
• Fresh fruit (strawberries, banana slices, apple slices)
• Marshmallows
• Biscuits or cookies for dipping

Method

1. Place chocolate and cream in a small skillet or cast-iron pot.
2. Set on the hot plate of your Trendz Fire Pit. Stir occasionally until smooth and melted.
3. Arrange fruit, marshmallows, and biscuits on a platter.
4. Dip, swirl, and enjoy straight from the fire!
