Douglas fireplace

Traditional and timeless, the Douglas silhouette is instantly recognisable and always in style. What defines the Douglas is its versatile profile. Delivered as a bare concrete shell, it offers a blank canvas for your personal touch. Plaster and paint it in any colour for a bold, custom finish, or clad it in schist or river stone for a more natural look.

Perfectly proportioned, this design complements any outdoor space, providing a relaxing focal point all year round.

Features

Steel Firebox
The Douglas is equipped with an innovative 6mm steel firebox featuring a double-skinned backplate. This design directs ambient heat back through the opening, rather than up through the flue or out through the walls of the fireplace.

Concrete Structure
The fireplace arrives as a single-piece concrete structure, providing a blank canvas for your desired finish. Delivered in bare concrete, you can choose to plaster and paint it or clad it in a variety of materials to complement your design preferences.

FAQ

Can’t find your answer here? We might have already answered your question under our FAQ page.

How far can a hiab reach with the Douglas?

Depending on your location and the available hiabs, they can typically be lifted up to 20 meters.

Will the firebox rust?

Surface rust is expected; however, the firebox is made from durable 6mm steel with a double-skinned backplate, ensuring it will never rust through. Since we began in 2006, not one of our fireboxes has needed replacing. A quick touch-up paint every 6-12 months will keep the firebox looking like new.

Does a steel firebox put out much heat?

Yes, absolutely. Thanks to the design of the steel firebox, with its top and back baffles, you’ll not only get plenty of heat but also enjoy greater efficiency compared to a traditional brick fire.
