Caring for Your Trendz Outdoor Fireplace

Whether you enjoy your outdoor fireplace year-round or only occasionally, a little maintenance goes a long way in keeping it looking great and burning at its best. Here are some simple tips from Trendz Fireplace:

First fires:

  • Keep your first few fires small (2–3 hours, 2–3 small logs) to let the concrete settle.
  • Gradually increase fire size to help prevent hairline cracks and allow the flue to warm efficiently.

Checking for cracks:

  • Small hairline cracks in concrete are normal due to temperature changes.
  • Large structural cracks are rare and covered by your 2-year warranty,  contact us if concerned.

On-going firebox maintenance

  • Sweep ashes regularly to prevent rust.
  • Using a mesh or stainless steel door can help too (especially in coastal areas).
  • Repaint steel fireboxes every 6–12 months with high-temperature paint to keep them looking new.
  • Apply 'Rust Inhibiting Penetrating Oil' (RIPO) to steel wood boxes every 3–6 months.

Keeping up with maintenance on your Trendz firebox, will keep it looking it's best and allow you to enjoy your outdoor fireplace for many years to come.

Keeping your outdoor fireplace clean:

  • Don’t burn rubbish, plastics, or unseasoned wood.
  • Clean grills, plates, and fireboxes regularly to maintain performance.

Safety first:

  • Always store wood off the ground in a dry place.
  • Keep a hose or fire extinguisher nearby (within 5 metres).

With these simple steps, your Trendz fireplace will continue to be the heart of your outdoor space for many years to come.
